ERROR: NATURE NOT
FOUND

An exploratory, multimedia project that looks at our relationships with nature through different perspectives and timelines (the past, present, and future) and how technological nature affects those relationships. Design outcomes reflect the ways we consume nature.
Sofware: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Processing

POSTER TRIPTYCH

Each poster defines a term/topic the overall project explores: Biophilia, Technological Nature, and how the two terms relate to one another and what is currently happening to nature.

GROWING PAINS

Nature is always changing and people should cherish the special moments we have within it. The zine is an ode to nature, highlighting people's personal thoughts and memories about nature that brought joy as well as enlightenment.

161 GREEN GOLD

What will happen when real nature becomes a scarcity?

This work has a double meaning. On one hand, it’s a collection of specimens to revive specific flora and plants in the future. On the other hand, nature has become a commodity that people will become greedy for; keeping whatever they can to
themselves or selling it.

ENVIRONMENTAL OBLIVION

Maggie Stiefvater: “If I were a tree, I would have no reason to love a human”.

Humans often disregard the importance of nature and only start caring about it when it’s too late and when it starts to affect our own lives.

This display takes the mentality humans have about nature and switches it; making nature disregard our existence and importance. When someone is facing the camera a natural element will appear over their face. The more people that are there, the more elements fill the screen. The images stay the same unless someone presses a key to change it; symbolizing how humans only create change when they desire and when it is convenient for them.

POT HEAD

An interactive souvenir. Each flyer has its own image and QR code that, when scanned, will take you to Instagram to try out a nature filter based on the imagery in the project. Similar to the interactive display, the filter will have an image of a flower covering your face.

Instagram is all about aesthetics and only posting the best aspects of your life. Flowers are the most common nature element you see on Instagram because they are the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing aspect of nature. Humans only care to notice and admire the beautiful aspects of nature.
